RCT OR ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Care In An Environment Of Excellence

Root Canal Treatment is like mummifying a tooth by removing all live tissue like nerves and blood supply from within the tooth and maintain the dead tooth in the mouth fully functional.

RCT can be used to treat

  • tooth decay that has exposed the nerve of the tooth and the tooth is extremely tender and painful and sensitive to HOT and cold drinks and foods.
  • infections or abscess that has developed on the root tip or if the living tissue inside the tooth has become necrotic and the tooth looks darker in color.
  • teeth that had trauma or injury.
  • a tooth that had extensive work done on it earlier and it became very sensitive such as huge filling.

A Root Canal Treatment is NOT always successful and has a good success rate of approx. 80% to 85% and failure rate of approx. 15% to 20% and the reasons for failure are very common.
