Extraction means removing or pulling diseased and unwanted teeth from the mouth.
At our office we do normal and Wisdom teeth extractions that are within our scope of practice and others are Referred to Oral Surgeon
Extraction is considered
when there is no other option present to treat infected, decayed or broken teeth
- to remove baby teeth
- to remove Wisdom teeth
- to remove extra teeth from the mouth called supernumerary teeth and mesiodens
- to remove badly positioned teeth
- extractions may also be needed SOMETIMES when starting Orthodontic treatment or Braces.
Once an extraction is advised, all options of restoring the tooth in the mouth will be discussed in detail with you including the advantages, disadvantages and cost of each option and the repercussions of not replacing a tooth that needs extraction will also be discussed with you in detail.
